Description

Cycling Tour Food and Wine towards Montello and the Prosecco Hills

MEDIUM ROUTE

Difficulty 3 (Scale 1 to 5)

Total Km 75.1

Total elevation 618 mt

This is our strong point and certainly the path to which our staff is dedicating special attention.
We will enjoy a lot of evocative routes of the Great War, crossing the river Piave sacred to the homeland. The Montello is a hill high at the maximum point of 365 meters,
it is cut longitudinally by 21 sockets (21 roads) and all are intersected at the top by a road called Dorsale.
The difficulty is discreet, for those who want to try their hand at climbing will find quite steep slopes from 8% to 15%. And then we will visit the rolling Prosecco hills of Valdobbiadene, where we would taste not only excellent wines but also the typical local culinary specialties and visit the many cellars with the inevitable passage to “Osteria Senza Oste”.

In the manor the blessed Giuliana was born in 1186 from Rambaldo VI of Collalto. At the beginning of the 14th century, Count Rambaldo VIII of Collalto built the castle of San Salvatore, residence of his court, relegating the castle of Collalto to military defense. The Mastio of the Collalto castle is one of the few defensive structures left intact of the medieval castle together with the two access gates to the South-East and a terro of the second wall building which in the 19th century was transformed into a bell tower. The tower is the protagonist of the history of Bianca di Collalto where the poor handmaid of the collatina court was walled alive for the jealousy of the Countess Aicha da Camino.”,
